3 Existential Game Experiences!
A waste bin, a playground, and an escape room (walk into a bar).
Dear Ludic Liberators,
WOW. There are so many upcoming opportunities to play together! Perhaps one or more of them is in YOUR future. . . ? 🔮🗓🎲
Wednesday, May 5, 1pm EST/7pm CEST: Ludic Liberation Lab: Playing with WASTE Euro-Style! If you missed April’s Ludic Liberation Lab, you’re in luck – we are offering another chance to play with WASTE! The event is at a special European time-zones friendly time, and you can even give your donation using European money. I am really looking forward to all the cute European garbage we might get to see 😻🗑 (You don’t have to live in Europe to join and the games will still be in English.)
Friday, May 7, 11am EST/5pm CEST: Existential Playground on W(HOLES) @ the Deep Play Institute (time is also good if you’re in Europe!). I’ll be leading 1/4 of this immersive virtual playground exploring holes, wholes, and holiness! Some questions that motivate us are: How are holes wholes? Where are the holes inside our holes? When do we feel a hole or a whole? How are holes and wholes mixed and intermixed? How does language make holes whole again? Are holes holy? We are also inspired by things like shadow integration, holes in crocheted doilies making fractal patterns which reveal the whole, black holes (that which sucks in all things), and even arse holes (in the existential sense).
Six Week Email Game Starting May 3: Existential Escape Room. I love to play a game with myself that involves getting myself trapped in various institutional/relational situations and then escaping those traps. Getting trapped is an excellent way to learn about liberation! Liberation is so sweet and sad at the same time. It’s consciousness. It’s revelation. It’s the void. It’s release. It’s the fall. It’s the return. But you can’t liberate yourself unless you recognize the trap you’re in, and you can’t recognize the trap until you spend time in a few different ones, to see the features they share even when they appear very different from one another. Sometimes even the pursuit of liberation is a trap! You must study the anatomy of each trap to know how to escape and might even have to create a trap or two yourself, to really understand the formula. I’d love to invite you to play this game with me. It’s called EXISTENTIAL ESCAPE ROOM. You’ll need a trap to map out, a trap you’re willing to escape, or maybe one you've already gotten free from, but want to study closer (common traps include diet culture, educational programs, codependent relationships, career fantasies, etc.). The instructions will be delivered to you via email, and if you want some extra support exploring your particular trap-liberation dynamic, I’m making myself available for 1:1 sessions! You can select the option at check-out.
I would really enjoy it if our paths crossed in one of these adventures! 🌈
