THURSDAY 11/17 ~ Ludic Liberation Lab: ACQUAINTANCE THERAPY
What ghosts to we bring to our encounters with strangers?
Dear Ludic Liberators,
I invite you to join the third installment of our collective exploration of Relational Risk through a daring and innovative exercise in “Acquaintance Therapy” led by Netta Sadovsky!
During this 90 minute experiment we will treat our group of online acquaintances with the temporary reverence of couples therapy. We will study who we are to one another and why, and who we would like to become. We will do this through a series of facilitated discussions studying the unfolding process of our encounter.
Questions that will guide the exploration: What are we doing to ourselves and each other, consciously and unconsciously, in each passing moment? What acquaintance ghosts do we project into this exchange? What roles do we feel drawn into within this group and why? What do we want from and for this group?
This experimental form will have some qualities in common with therapy, and should be approached as potentially emotionally challenging. It’s designed for people who want to take on emotional risk for the sake of relational learning. If taking on interpersonal risk would cause undue harm to you right now (maybe you are going through a period of grieving, some big highs and lows, or just feel extra vulnerable) this might not be the right time to participate. The facilitator, Netta Sadovsky, is a therapist specializing in here-and-now group process from a Psychodynamic perspective, with training in Internal Family Systems Therapy and small group consultancy in the Tavistock Group Relations tradition. They also have experience facilitating Circling. This will be their first time facilitating this structure.
This lab is the last of three experiments exploring the theme of “Relational Risk.” Risk level for “Acquaintance Therapy” is 9/10.
